No Multitouch feature for Xperia X10 ( Confirmed )

Here we go folks with yet another Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 item. The latest update for the over hyped smartphone isn't all good news as it increases the confusion regarding the controversial multi-touch capability. The official word is No multitouch for Android ever.

This means we are back to the point where we started which is no multitouch simply because the hardware isn't capable enough to do so. SE Communication Manager Harold de Kort confirmed the unfortunate news and said:
Multi-touch will not be a feature in future updates for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 because the device does not support multi-touch due to her software and hardware configuration. The operation and user experience of the phone will be further improved and Sony Ericsson will come with her own intuitive way of, for example, zooming in and out.
Prior to this, it was revealed that multi-touch might magically make its way to Xperia X10. With this development, I just wonder was all of this confusion created to get the Android 1.6 in the headlines? A pure speculation on my side.

Gizmodo has uncovered some leaked photos of a new handset which appear to be quite authentic. The first thing you would notice here is its shiny plastic finish, which is very much welcoming from the pale gray look on G1. Also this time around there is not physical keyboard present, which is a little disappointing. Though the touchscreen is large, but we know the current Android interface had some issues. The back side has a new surprise A 3.2 Mega Pixel camera, though even mid range phones for vendors like Nokia boast a 5.0 Mega Pixel camera these days. What would be interesting is the video capabilities of the G2 (if there are any). The current rumors suggest that this handset would hit the shelves...
