Unlike the usual and complicated way of sending secure emails using other email encryption services, Send Inc does it differently. It doesn't require you to maintain encryption keys and sends secure emails directly from your browser without the need to download or install any software. Also, this service is so easy to use!

To send a secure email, fill in the form provided with you and your recipients' email addresses, your message subject, secure message and attachments of up to 10MBs (optional). Click on 'Send Secure Email' and you're done. (Note that Send Inc will prompt you to create an account when you enter you email address.)

It seems that Send Inc sends extremely secure emails. According to Send Inc, "Send.™ encrypts your email using the same algorithm the NSA has deemed fit for the encryption of TOP SECRET information. The email is then sent on to the recipient(s). Each recipient opens an attachment containing the encrypted email and decrypts it with their own Send.™ account - or they can quickly create an account for free."

Send Inc is a Texas-based company which started this email encryption service in May 2008.

  1. Voltage SecureMail at www.voltage.com/vsn is another great email encryption tool. Your email address is your public key instead of a PGP key or a certificate. You can send ad-hoc email to anyone and recipients don't need any special software to read and reply securely. Encrypted mail is only stored in a sender's sent folder or a recipient's inbox. It's been working great for me...and I think that individuals with a .edu address can use it for free as well.
