Gmail For I-Pad Supports HTML5

http://www.iphonesavior.com/images/2008/05/14/ipad_touch_mock_up.jpgFew days back, there was news all over the internet about the rivalry between Apple and Google. But looking at the recent events, it doesn’t look like they have anything hard against each other.

http://www.enfd.org/images/gmail.pngGoogle has announced an experimental version Gmail application for iPad and other tablet devices. The application’s user interface is built on Gmail for Mobile HTML5 web application which was released earlier for iPhone and Android devices. The screenshot shows that the new Gmail for iPad has a different interface than the desktop version. It has 2 panes, inbox on the left side pane and the messages are on the right side. The interface looks really clean, simple and easy to use with all the Gmail features which were present in the web version.
By looking at the recent events, it’s really hard to say that the two companies are against each other or they have some kind of issues. And it looks like they will release more apps in the future for different Apple products.
