Photosynth brings you a great Web experience by having the capability of walking or flying through a scene to see photos from an angle, zoom in or out, see where pictures were taken in relation with one another plus many other cool features.
Using the ActiveX browser plug-in and a server-based service, it presents several different photos in an aggregated view.
With Photosynth, you can capture the sweeping scale of a mile of the Grand Canal in Venice, and focus in on the exquisite rot at the waterline of a beautifully decaying palazzo doorway.
How does it Work?
Using techniques from the field of computer vision, Photosynth examines images for similarities to each other and uses that information to estimate the shape of the subject and the vantage point the photos were taken from. With this information, it recreates the space and use it as a canvas to display and navigate through the photos.
